For Eloise, life as a princess means constant toil, studies, and stress. When her parents arrange a ball in an attempt to pair their daughter off, she causes a scene with an overzealous suitor which results in a treacherous scandal–bringing the Kingdom into a state of  panic and uncertainty for their future.

 

Opportunistic as always, the clever and calculating Captain of the Guard, Sir Vaughn, begins to manipulate and charm his way into the royal council. He intends to set up his son, Marius, with the Princess. Unfortunately for Vauhgn, both Eloise and Marius have eyes for other people, neither of which are whom he would expect.
